It never used to be 'cause you s-- never used to be open seven days a week but now it's gotten to the point where it's open seven days a week and it's- pretty near went from one aspect into another.

Um, 'cause with these guys we're pretty near seven days a week running with.

Both of us try to keep the flower beds going but that's pretty near impossible around here for the weeds.

Lots of times yeah. But in the real tough- walked pretty near all the time.

Like yeah. I went up there I'd- as- I said- something just was drawing me to that store and ah- yeah I stayed up there pretty near all night.

Yeah. I was with them for- for ah pretty near a year, I-guess.

So that's pretty near my life story.

Yeah, but that- that's when it burnt out. They pretty- they pretty near lost Dobey that time which was- the fire was coming that direction. I think it stopped in time. Nature.

And, ah but she was a good teacher and um- I-don't-know I think pretty near all the ones I had in high-school were pretty good.

Oh I ac-- I pretty near died (coughs).

Well people worked in factories and they worked times, like we had ah- lots of factories here in Almonte, they went night and day pretty near.

Oh the woods pretty near two-thousand-acres here-

But it was funny that (inc) like dad worked in the camps and then he'd come to get them logs to the mill and then he bought those steam-boats and that- that (inc) come to an end and then (inc) trucking and now the log trucking is pretty near done now and the gravel trucking and that- I just got a new one here last summer.

It's- it's pretty near- you can get as much for a good log as you get in a wood log. You better to cut it into wood than you are to-

And you could pretty near eat everything that they grew on it.

And the main stop-offs- there's ah, one was- they'd come from ah, Lakefield to Peterborough- that's pretty near a day's run.

And I'd build it so there was pretty-near eight feet over top of the cab.

And I got the job of working in the mow and it was a little old peak-roofed barn, hotter than hell. And you'd just pretty near melt. But anyways.

That's a-hundred-and-seventy- so yeah, a-hundred-and-seventy-five dollars, eh? That's about pretty near third of a year's wages (laughs). So it was good money.

Ah, I put in pretty near s-- I quit the post and ah quit the mowing of the roads too. I used to mow the county roads here.
